Evaluation of the Causes and Disease Processes of Chronic Lung Disease Clinical Trials Information presented on Clinical Trials Search is not designed to be a substitute for proven healthcare advice, travels to or treatment by using a genuine medical doctor. We are not physicians. Always confer with your doctor on Evaluation of the Causes and Disease Processes of Chronic Lung Disease conditions. Clinical Trials Search.org is a site devoted to listing clinical research studies in human subjects. Evaluation of the Causes and Disease Processes of Chronic Lung Disease Clinical research trials and Evaluation of the Causes and Disease Processes of Chronic Lung Disease healthcare trials take place in many of cities across the United States of America. A clinical trial or clinical study is a research project with human volunteer subjects. Clinical drug trials and pharmaceutical clinical trials generally evaluate the effectiveness of new drugs. The function of the studies / undertakings is to answer specific human medical questions. Clinical trials are a popular means for mDs, government agencies, and private sector companies to find treatments for all forms of conditions, including Evaluation of the Causes and Disease Processes of Chronic Lung Disease. Evaluation of the Causes and Disease Processes of Chronic Lung Disease Clinical Trials and other clinical trials allow for volunteers to access medical treatment alternatives before they are available to the masses. Many times the test subjects undergo treatment for without cost, and occasionally they are compensated for their time. Occasionally there is a cost for a Evaluation of the Causes and Disease Processes of Chronic Lung Disease clinical trial. Test subjects oftentimes recieve the best healthcare possible for their Evaluation of the Causes and Disease Processes of Chronic Lung Disease condition. Hazards are a reality, nonetheless, and might include additional or frequent doctor trips, healthcare hazards (perhaps life-jeopardizing), and/or the treatment being ineffective. Trials are federally regulated with rigid guidelines to protect clinical trials subjects.

Evaluation of the Causes and Disease Processes of Chronic Lung Disease

Evaluation of the Causes and Disease Processes of Chronic Lung Disease

For Condition: Lung Disease
Status: Recruiting
Sponsor(s): National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) ,
Synopsis: Chronic lung diseases are disorders associated with abnormalities in any of the structures involved in the process of breathing and bringing oxygen into the lungs and blood. This includes abnormalities in the airways, lungs, blood vessels in and around the lungs, and the tissue covering the lungs (pleura). The purpose of this research study is to evaluate patients referred to the Pulmonary-Critical Care Medicine Branch (P-CCMB) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) in order to; 1. Develop a better understanding of the causes and disease processes involved in disorders of the lungs 2. Identify patients eligible to participate in other P-CCMB research studies
Details: The chronic lung diseases are those disorders associated with functional and/or structural derangement to the alveolar structures, airways, pulmonary blood vessels, pleura and/or mediastinum. The purpose of this project is to permit the comprehensive evaluation of patients referred to the Pulmonary-Critical Care Medicine Branch (P-CCMB) in order to: (1) develop an understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of these disorders; and (2) identify individuals who will be suitable candidates for other P-CCMB protocols.
