Diagnosis/Pathophysiology of Glucocorticoid Remediable Aldosteronism Hypertension Clinical Trials Facts presented on Clinical Trials Search isn't designed to be a substitute for proven healthcare advice, calls or treatment using a real mD. We aren't mDs. Always confer with your physician on Diagnosis/Pathophysiology of Glucocorticoid Remediable Aldosteronism Hypertension conditions. Clinical Trials Search.org is a website dedicated to listing clinical research studies in human subjects. Diagnosis/Pathophysiology of Glucocorticoid Remediable Aldosteronism Hypertension Clinical research trials and Diagnosis/Pathophysiology of Glucocorticoid Remediable Aldosteronism Hypertension healthcare trials happen in a lot of of localities across the United States of America. A clinical trial or clinical study is a research project with human volunteer subjects. Clinical drug trials and pharmaceutical clinical trials generally measure the potency of new drugs. The aim of the studies / undertakings is to answer particular human medical questions. Clinical trials are a popular manner for doctors, government agencies, and private sector corporations to discover remedies for all kinds of circumstances, such as Diagnosis/Pathophysiology of Glucocorticoid Remediable Aldosteronism Hypertension. Diagnosis/Pathophysiology of Glucocorticoid Remediable Aldosteronism Hypertension Clinical Trials and other clinical trials allow volunteers to get healthcare treatment alternatives before they are available to the general public. Most times the participants receive treatment for without cost, and occasionally they are paid for their time. Sometimes there is a cost for a Diagnosis/Pathophysiology of Glucocorticoid Remediable Aldosteronism Hypertension clinical trial. Human subjects often receive the most effective healthcare possible for their Diagnosis/Pathophysiology of Glucocorticoid Remediable Aldosteronism Hypertension condition. Risks are a reality, nonetheless, and may include more or frequent dr. calls, healthcare hazards (perhaps life-threatening), and/or the treatment being ineffective. Trials are federally governed with rigorous guidelines to protect clinical trials subjects.

Diagnosis/Pathophysiology of Glucocorticoid Remediable Aldosteronism Hypertension

Diagnosis/Pathophysiology of Glucocorticoid Remediable Aldosteronism Hypertension

For Condition: Heart Diseases,Hypertension,Cardiovascular Diseases
Status: Completed
Sponsor(s): National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) ,
Synopsis: To identify and study a large cohort of glucocorticoid remediable aldosteronism (GRA) patients.
Details: DESIGN NARRATIVE: The spectrum of the severity and the natural history of the disorder was characterized. Modifying environmental and genetic factors important in regulation of blood pressure were determined. Also, renal physiology was studied in GRA patients to determine how these patients escaped hypokalemia in spite of mineralocorticoid excess. There were four specific aims including: 1) to determine the natural history and prevalence of GRA in various hypertensive populations, 2) to characterize the magnitude of effect imparted on blood pressure by inheritance of GRA and the sources of variation in phenotype expression of the hypertension, 3) to investigate the renal and hormonal mechanisms regulating potassium conservation and loss in GRA, and 4) to characterize the disequilibrium of GRA with Irish and Scottish descent and specific alleles of the aldosterone synthase gene.
